Mallory knew Spencer was watching her as she made her way quickly through the hallways. With Hudson at her side, she was sure he wouldn’t approach her. And he didn’t, though he also didn’t look away when their gazes met. She half-expected him to send her a glare or look away, or at least have an annoyed look on his face. She got none of those, instead his lips turned down into an almost frown, he looked almost…

If she didn’t know any better she would’ve said he looked concerned.

He was standing with his back to the wall and with Mason next to him. Though Mason was rather busy listening to a energetic Harper in front of him talking so quick Mallory doubted her hand gestures could keep up. Spencer didn’t pay either of his friends any attention, glancing at Mallory’s bodyguard and then looking back to her.

She sent him a glare instead as she passed by.

And then she kept glaring at the hallway as she made her way with Hudson. She knew he saw everything, but he still refrained from commenting. It made her wonder- very briefly- if he knew about what Spencer knew.

She could hear someone calling her name but she didn’t stop for him and she definitely didn’t turn around. Though she did notice Hudson’s eyes flickered to her through the corner of his eyes, just long enough to communicate his thoughts.

A third, even louder pronunciation of her last name made her grit her teeth, and push her feet to a faster pace.

Hudson strolled along, though she could see the annoyance in his eyes too. While Mallory couldn’t fully blame Spencer for somethings, that didn’t mean she wanted to talk to him. Hudson had made it clear that he didn’t care for him at all after how he’d made the girl feel over the years. Who knew the boy would be the one annoying her with his presence now?

‘’Is there something a bodyguard could do about him?” Mallory muttered to him as they walked.

The man glanced at the small blonde,’’Still a kid and a student, kiddo. If you want him handled for shouting your name in the hallway then your mother will have to do it her way, I can’t with witnesses at the moment….sadly.’’

She frowned, she didn’t like the idea at all of that happening to Spencer. He was a pain, but he’d still been one of the first kids she had actually spoken to when she was younger. And he’d never been as cruel as Chase, though…it had hurt more from him when she’d still thought of him as a friend. No, her mother wouldn’t be as nice after she found out about the rumors Chase started, best to not put more on the radar.

Mallory shook her thoughts away, plastering on a large grin and taking off with a skip. She was out of the house, Hudson was with her, and they’d gotten a message to E. Her version of thinking positive thoughts might have seemed odd had she not been so happy about the progress.
